UX/UI design

Apps and portals people understand without a manual

UX is how something works: the steps someone takes to get a task done. UI is how it looks: buttons, screens, text. Together they decide whether your app, portal or dashboard gets used, or ignored.

Software can do everything right and still fail, because nobody understands where to click. We design the screens and the steps first, and test them, before any code is written.

Sound familiar?

  • Your team has an internal system, but works around it whenever it can.
  • Customers call with questions the portal should have answered.
  • Your dashboard is full of numbers, but nobody sees at a glance what matters.
  • You're having an app built and want to see how it will work first.

What we design

  • The steps

We map out how someone finishes a task from start to end, in as few steps as possible.

  • Screen sketches

Simple first: what goes where. So we talk about how it works, not about colours.

  • Clickable prototype

A mock app that feels real. You click through it before anything is built.

  • Testing with real users

A few people from your team or customers try the prototype, and we adjust.

  • Fixed components

Buttons, fields and tables that work the same everywhere. That makes new screens easier later.

  • Readable for everyone

Enough contrast, easy-to-read text and buttons you can hit on a phone.

What it gets you

  • Software that gets used

When something works logically, people pick it up on their own.

  • Fewer questions

What explains itself leads to fewer calls and emails.

  • Mistakes on paper, not in code

Changing a screen in a design costs far less than in a finished app.

What it costs

For a design of existing software you get a quote within one working day with a fixed price and a fixed date. If the design is part of an app we also build, it starts with the paid consultation. If you go ahead, that fee comes off the job, and you get a fixed price before we begin.

Design is not the build. If you get the design only, someone else builds it, or we do at a separate fixed price. We don't promise user numbers or fewer support requests: we design it to work logically, and we test that.

How it works

  1. Step 1

    Introduction

Who uses it, and what do they need to get done?

  2. Step 2

    Steps and sketches

We draw the route and the screens, simple and quick to change.

  3. Step 3

    Prototype and test

You click through the prototype. Real users try it too.

  4. Step 4

    Build-ready

The final design, ready to build, by us or by your own developer.

Frequently asked questions

Can you redesign an existing app?
Yes. We start by looking at where users get stuck, and redesign those parts first.
Do I need to find users for the test?
Ideally, yes: a few people who will really use it. We agree that in the plan.
Isn't UX/UI design included when you build an app?
Yes, a web app we build includes the design. This service is for when you want the design on its own, or when existing software needs to get better.
What does my developer get from you?
Design files with every screen, component, colour and size, plus the prototype that shows how it should work.
